PULLING WORDS BLIND FROM MAGNETIC POETRY KIT

      Mid-November 2018.
A while now, OK with being a landlubber, suburbanite, two hours away from a beach community, sand, ocean, salt air, not having been to any such location in at least two years, for various reasons.
     18 November 2018, Sunday, 11:30 AM-ish.
Pulled out my Magnetic Poetry Kit. Haven't written a thing in quite some time. Maybe this will jog some words out of my head, mind, onto a magnetic board.
Pulled words blind, like drawing letters for a SCRABBLE game.

     Color
     Sea
     Smell

     Me
     You
     Awesome

Rearranged the words:

     Color me
     Sea you
     Smell awesome

What are the chances of drawing these words blind?
Beach, ocean, salt air, surfacing, still deep within my psyche, no matter what.

Once Upon A Time: Autumn - Hiding In Plain Sight, Milford, MA

Change of Seasons Dilemma Time Again 2018

Leave the window air conditioners in a bit longer
Or
Take them out

Leave the screen doors in a bit longer
Or
Take them out and put the storm doors in

Leave the Spring/Summer furniture on the porches a bit longer
OR
Put the porch Spring/Summer furniture away in storage

There might still be a few Spring/Summer feel days ahead...or not...

WINDCHIMES WHISPERER

Mother's Day (May 13th Sunday) Gift Ideas For Me
To My Husband and Therefore Our Daughter

Texting with my husband Joseph Scott Taylor

01 May 2018 Tuesday

To Joe 7:16 AM - How about another outside pole or two to hang a couple more wind chimes outside at a time?

From Joe 7:19 AM - Only if you come along and pick them out. A trip to (Hopkinton, MA) Weston Nursery should take care of it. And we can get a Snappy Dog while there.

To Joe 7:56 AM - I just want another pole or two to hang wind chimes I already have. Do not need more wind chimes. Want if when I see them maybe. Need? No!

02 May 2018 Wednesday

To Joe 2:19 PM - Special request when you get home tonight (from work). Hang a wind chime (higher than I feel comfortable reaching on a stool, knee issue) here inside in kitchen for me. Another wind chime I was able to fix as best I could. I fixed 3 wind chimes today. 2 are already hanging. Nice to have time to do this sort of stuff.

I also fixed a few other wind chimes a bit ago. Stormy weather broke ties, made the wind chimes lose pipes, decorative pieces of wind chimes. I found most or all of the pieces, used thin wire we had around the house, figured they could be put back together, maybe 100% or a bit less. Not always like the original wind chime, but close enough. If you don't look closely, most of the time you can't really tell they were repaired. Not hugely expensive. Other people would maybe have just gotten rid of them, probably in the trash. I like them and deemed them worth repairing if I could as best I could. I  could and I did, as best as I possibly could.

Finally enjoying my retirement, age 65 (January 20th birthday). A right knee cap fracture September 2017, the final week my boss was closing our office, I would have retired the next week, delayed my retirement enjoyment.

CHRISTMAS IN APRIL 2018

28 April 2018 Saturday

To CVS this morning 8:36 AM for paper newspapers. "Boston Globe" - yes. "Milford Daily News" - no.
To Rite-Aid, "Milford Daily News" - no.
Must be a delivery issue/ problem.
"Milford Daily News" is so thin, $1.00, $1.50? But it has a JUMBLE Word Puzzle from yesterday I couldn't quite figure out, solution today.
     Found a penny at Rite-Aid!
Medium little, girl, shoulder length dark hair. Shoes/sneakers, black pants with sparkles, long-sleeved red shirt with "Santa's Little Helper" on the front.
OK! Today is April 28th. Maybe no other shirt to wear until laundry day. Maybe she didn't even think or care about it. Maybe she just really, really, really likes this shirt.
Perhaps something our daughter Courtney would have done.
     Too Funny.
     Christmas in April.
I figured out the JUMBLE on my own.

FLOATING IN FIELDS OF FANTASIES

APPLE, DAPPLE, GRAPPLE

In order to gravity grapple,

Newton sat under the dapple

Of the leaves of a tree that dropped apples.

- 6 November 2012

A-P-P-L-E: 24 APRIL 2018 TUESDAY

Nary an apple tree in our front yard, or anywhere near our front yard. No trees at this point in time. Just majestic old white pine tree stumps, one stump on each side of the front sidewalk. Branches were falling, it could have been dangerous. Sad days when we cut them down.

Texting with my husband Joseph Scott Taylor

To Joe 12:28 PM - A whole fresh green apple has appeared in our O'Grady side front yard. I saw it yesterday still there today. Took a photo of course.

From Joe 12:30 PM - I thought that you probably put out there for the birds or critters.

To Joe 12:42 PM - I would have put a birds or critters treat out back.

To Joe 12:49 PM - I do not usually buy green apples.

So where did the whole fresh green apple come from?
No marks on it like squirrel teeth bites or bird beaks picking at it.
Would our next door neighbors have thrown it into our yard?
Would someone driving by throw it out of their car, over the not high hedge plants and up the incline to our yard?
Would someone walking by on the no sidewalk this side of the street throw it over the not high hedge plants and up the incline to our yard?
So where did the whole fresh green apple come from?
               Magic?

60 Degrees F Winter Spring Break Weather

A young couple, both tall and slim, casual dressed for Spring

Holding hands, swinging, walking on busy Route 140

No sidewalk, didn't matter

Exuding exuberant aura of perfectly matched

Or was it just in my mind

They were perfectly matched

Because it was such a lovely

Bird twitters
I've already heard a robin, earlier this year, wondered if it wintered over or was an early arrival.
I've heard a few more.
And redwing blackbirds rusty hinge rasp
Harbinger of Spring,.
Waiting for peepers peeping
Then I'll know its Spring.

COMPASS ROSE NECKLACE

I am not a stranger to the nautical having grown up Cape Cod, MA usa, early 1950's, until I attended Framingham State College (now up-branded to Framingham State University) and settled off-Cape after college mid to late 1970's. My parents and other relatives and friends lived there their remaining lives. I went back to see my Cape Cod family often. Not during Summer, peak tourist season, if I could help it.
Several years ago now, I saw the Compass Rose Necklace in a Cross Jewelers, Portland, ME paper advertisement and purchased what I could afford.
     I just really liked it.
I found out later that my niece and nephew-in law sold this line at the time in their jewelry store,
M. K. Benatti, 11 State Street, Newburyport, MA 01950, also.
I felt so bad.
I wore it every day for a long time.
I lost it once. I searched the area where I worked, nothing. I
shook out the clothes I was wearing, nothing. I despaired it was lost for good.
     One
evening, in the bathroom, looking down, something shone. I looked down under the edge of the sink - the Compass Rose disk had re-appeared.
I never found the chain. I replaced the chain with a purchase from Baza Jewelers here in Milford, MA. I go to Baza Jewelers if I need or want something locally. Not often, but Mr. Baza has always been gracious when I have visited. I think it was our daughters joined Girl Scouts, and my daughter and his children went to Milford Public School, probably not the same grades.
I stopped wearing my Compass Rose Necklace for a little after fracturing my right knee cap last September. I took it off to go to hospital for my successful operation, and didn't put it on again.
Until recently. I have started wearing it again.
I haven't bought any other piece of jewelry from Cross Jewelers, Portland, ME.
They advertise in the paper Sunday magazine "GLOBE MAGAZINE", which comes in the "BOSTON SUNDAY GLOBE" paper newspaper. I look to see what they are advertising in that printing.
They have my address, continue to send me paper catalogs.
I pore through their paper catalogs,
     Window shopping.
     Maybe something, some other day.
From any of these jewelry stores.
     Or not.

YES, I HAVE SEEN THIS WEATHER COLOR GREEN

06 February 2018 Tuesday
Dayrise.
Light grey white grey violet grey blue grey.
A line of white gold along the horizon.
My horizon is tree tops.
It used to be ocean.

Yes, I have seen this weather color green.
Inland as well as coast.
I just didn't know how to describe it.

Here is how Nora Roberts describes it in HEART OF THE SEA, Chapter Eighteen
"Had you ever seen that green tint to the clouds' edges before? Had  you ever tasted air that had such a flavor of mean in it?"
"She would hit, they said, and hit hard."

"A storm hovered over the village, marching down from the northeast to camp on the border as an army digs in for a siege. The rising winds and splattering rain that were its leading edge chased people from the beaches, and brought a nasty chill. The sky, thick and bruised and ominous, had even the locals glancing upward with apprehension.
Had you ever seen that green tint to the clouds' edges before? Had you ever tasted air that had such a flavor of mean in it?
She would hit, they said, and hit hard.
Those who'd been through such things before checked their stock of candles and lamp oil and batteries. Supplies were laid in, and children ordered to stay close to home. Boats were secured in their docks as Ardmore prepared for the coming battle."

OWLS - January 25th 2018 Thursday

Texting with my husband Joe

Me, 5:02 A.M.: "Yesterday A.M. and this A.M. I think I hear an owl 'who-who-who'."

Joe, 5:40 A.M.: "Owl or mourning dove?"

Me, 5:43 A.M.: "Hmmm...still going with owl first impression and not sure mourning doves coo at this tie during night early early morning."

Joe, 6:00 A.M.: "If you heard an owl it was probably a Great Horned Owl. According to Mass Audubon they can be found throughout the state, most commonly in winter. I emailed you a link to a series of owl sounds Check them out and see if it was a Great Horned Owl that you heard."

Me, 6:14 A.M.: "The bird presentations people at library events we have attended say owls are around this area also."

Me, 2:09 P.M.: "Sounds like a Great Horned Owl."

JANUARY 20TH 2018 SATURDAY - MY 65TH BIRTHDAY

Gorgeous January Thaw Weekend, So Many Times It Snows, Blizzards

Texting with my husband Joe, he and our daughter looking for birthday gift ideas for me, and results

Joe: "Courtney is looking for ideas on what to give you for your birthday. Is there anything you would like me to pass onto her for ideas?"

Me: "You and she both could give me a photo album or 2 to put actual photos in. I think about 4" by 6" photos."

Joe: "Anything else?"

Me: "Nothing else I can think of at the moment. Oh, wait - a knee that works 100 percent! (:0)"

Me: "I have another gift idea. Socks. Let Courtney know also."

Me: "Another gift idea for me. Hood sweatshirt that zips up front has pockets size Large. Like the Cape Cod sweatshirt I wear all the time."

Asked and received - socks (art: Starry Night, The Scream - Courtney's younger self did The Scream, The Kiss, 2nd pair of Mona Lisa), an elephant design hooded with pockets, front zip sweatshirt, photo album in a cloth bag bright emerald green good for St. Patrick's Day; an elephant design carry bag Courtney found at a Good Will store near where she lives in CT was my Christmas present. Winter weather issues prevented her coming here since Thanksgiving.
